Nucleotide Hackathon is the one of the largest biotechnology hackathon where high school students around the world team up to make impactful software relating to the secret theme. We will release the theme at the opening ceremony. Students team up in groups of 2 to 4 to build an app, game, program, or website. Students will have 3 days, from December 4th at 10 AM PST to December 7th at 4PM PST, to create an amazing product and submit it to compete for $130,000 of prizes. Eligibility

High school students and middle school students are allowed to compete. Exceptions include seniors and thsoe in their gap year. Anyone older or younger than this will not be permitted.

  • Feasibility
    How much traction has this team had? Is this project technically practical? Given the skills that the team possesses, is this project feasible?
  • Innovation
    How unique is this team’s idea? Has this been done before?
  • Market Research and Growth Potential
    Does the team have a thorough understanding of the market and competitive landscape? How large is the market they are trying to reach? Has the team done customer research? Is the problem being solved significant?
  • Storytelling
    Does this team demonstrate passion, courage, or other traits likely to contribute to their success? How compelling is their pitch? This category is unrelated to video quality.
